Personal information

Wouter Schuller graduated in medicine in 1989 at the VU Medical Center. After graduation he worked as senior house officer in orthopaedics at the Ibn-al-bitar hospital in Bagdad and as casualty officer in Greenwich District Hospital in London. Working with a spinal surgeon in Iraq created an interest in the spine which eventually led to specializing in spinal manipulation using the orthomanual technique developed in the Netherlands. He has a practice in Zaandam where he works together with fysiotherapists and other orthomanual physicians combining the different treatment modalities into a multidisciplinary treatment for spinal complaints. In 2008 he finished the post-initial EMGO master course in epidemiology, and is currently working on several research programs into the effects and mechanisms of spinal manipulative treatment.
