Adri Apeldoorn graduated in physiotherapy in1985. He worked as a physiotherapist from 1986 till 1991 in the rehabilitation centre ‘De Trappenberg’ (Huizen) and from 1991 till 2008 in the rehabilitation department of the ‘Medisch Centrum Alkmaar’. He studied Cyriax (Delft), Manual Therapie (Utrecht), Mckenzie (Roermond) and clinical epidemiology (VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam). His master thesis focused on the reliability and validity of the Waddell score as part of a cohort study. February 2008 he started working at the EMGO Institute, VU University medical centre on his PhD project: “A Classification Algorithm for Low Back Pain: Matching patients to treatments that they are most likely to benefit from”. The project is funded by ZonMW and is under the supervision of dr. Raymond Ostelo, professor Riekie de Vet and professor Maurits van Tulder.
