Personal information
Kim van Bastelaar was born in 1982 in Bramsche (Germany). She grew up in Germany and at age twelve she moved to the south of the Netherlands. Consequently she studied Clinical Psychology at the Radboud University in Nijmegen (RUN).
She graduated in 2005, after an internship at an addiction treatment centre (GGZnml), after developing and writing a thesis on a web-based therapy for the treatment of claustrophobia. She worked as a research assistent on a project concerning lifestyle issues in out-patients of the department of General Internal Medicine, for the Amsterdam Medical Centre (AMC De Meren), Radboud University Medical Centre Nijmegen (UMC St.Radboud) and the Amsterdam Institute for Addiction Research (AIAR).
In 2006, she started her PhD-project at the VU University Medical Centre (VUmc) and moved to Amsterdam. This project she's currently working on concerns web-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for the treatment of depression in diabetes patients.
