Hein van Hout (1967) is assistant professor at the Department of General Practice, EMGO+ Institute, VU University medical center Amsterdam. Research Topics I am involved in various studies aimed at case-finding, prevention and treatment of depression, dementia and frail elderly in primary care and residential settings. Short Biography I am trained in clinical psychology, filosophy and epidemiology, first at the University of Maastricht (1985-1991) and received my PhD at the Radboud University Nijmegen (1994-1999). I was postdoc at the International Health Foundation and thereafter at the VU University medical center of Amsterdam. Since 2003 I am appointed here as assistant professor to the department of General Practice at the EMGO+ Institute.

Hobby's
