Trudy  Klomp

Short biography

Trudy Klomp worked as an independant miwife in the eastern part of the Netherlands (Zutphen) for 17 years. After this period she started to work at the Royal Dutch Organization of Midwives (KNOV) for 2 years, finished her first degree of education HGZO at te VU University of Amsterdam (Beweginswetenschappen) and started to work (in 2004) at the Academy of Midwifery in Amsterdam. In 2005, she finished her Master of Science degree in Midwifery, within the 'Education profile', at the University of Amsterdam. 

In 2008, she started her PhD project 'Management of labour pain' at the EMGO+ Departement of Midwifery Science, VUmc in collaboration with St. Radboud University, departement of Women Studies, Medical Sciences, Nijmegen.

In April 2015, she got her PhD degree In Biomedical Science at the St. Radboud university of Nijmegen, UMC.

Since january 2016, she's coordinator of the VU master Health Sciences, route Midwifery Science.
