Heleen  Beckerman Heleen Beckerman is senior researcher at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam. She is a licensed physiotherapist (University of Professional Education Utrecht, 1983) and received a MSc in Health Sciences (1988) at the Radboud University of Nijmegen, with a major in Epidemiology. In 1996, she obtained a PhD for her thesis on The Efficacy of Thermocoagulation and an Ankle-Foot Orthosis in Stroke Patients. At the EMGO Institute, Heleen Beckerman participates in the Clinimetric Working Group (chair: Riekie de Vet), the Prediction Working Group (chair: Daniëlle van der Windt), and is a senior staff member of the Musculoskeletal Health Research Programme (chairs: Riekie de Vet, Joost Dekker).

At the VU Research Institute MOVE, she is member of Scientific Committee and reviews the clinical epidemiological quality of research proposals. Other memberships of Heleen Beckerman are The Netherlands Epidemiology Society, Royal Dutch Society for Physiotherapy (KNGF), Editorial Board of the Dutch Journal of Physiotherapy, and the Dutch Society for Public Health and Sciences.
