Short biography

After a completed BSc Nutrition and Dietetics in Amsterdam, Rachel did a major in Nutritional Epidemiology during a 2-year MSc Nutrition and Health in Wageningen. Her thesis was entitled: Intake of fish and omega-3 fatty acids and prostate cancer risk: The Rotterdam Study. Rachel did a 6-month internship at The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centre in Seattle, USA in the field of cancer epidemiology. 

From November 2009 until October 2010, she worked as a junior researcher at the Institute for Health Sciences, Department Prevention and Public Health at the VU University in Amsterdam.

Since October 2010, she is a PhD student at the Department of Nutrition and Health at the VU University in Amsterdam. The PhD project is entitled; High risk for undernutrition, now what? Development and evaluation of an intervention for the prevention of undernutrition in high-risk older persons receiving home care.  

Since March 2016, she is a Assistant Project Manager for two EU projects: MooDFOOD and PROMISS.
