Martijn Huisman is a scientific researcher within the Longitudinal Ageing Study Amsterdam (LASA). His main focus is the role of socioeconomic adversity on health in old age.
Martijn obtained an MSc in Clinical and Health Psychology (1999) and an MSc in Epidemiology (2003). He received his PhD in 2004 from ErasmusMC for his thesis entitled "Socioeconomic inequalities in health in Europe; studies of middle-aged and older populations with a special focus on the role of smoking". He has worked at EMGO+ since 2009; more specifically at the departments of Epidemiology & Biostatistics and Psychiatry.
