Genetic susceptibility, family history information and disease prevention in public health: type 2 diabetes as an example (WC2008-011)
Methods
Starting date: 01/01/2008Consultations (focus groups) with stakeholders (including potential consumers and patients) were done to investigate the impact of diabetes family history information from a broader societal perspective. A randomized controlled trial was performed to investigate how the collection of familial history, interpretation and communication of familial risk information using a web-based tool affects individuals and their families, and potentially the health care system as a whole.
The data collection and analyses has finished and results are being published.
