Randomized controlled trial to test the (cost)-effectiveness of a patient tailored intervention programme to enhance adherence to cardiovascular medication (wc2015-019)

Background

Starting date: 01/11/2015

Medication non-adherence is a complex and multidimensional health care problem. Due to non-adherence, substantial numbers of patients benefit from their medication to a limited extent. In order to improve adherence several (pharmacist-led) interventions have been developed. However, even the most effective interventions achieved only a modest positive effect. Interventions should be targeted at specific barriers, developed in a systematic manner and tailored to the specific features of a target group and setting.
