Background

Starting date: 01/12/2007

Recently, there is a wide interest in the early detection and prevention of mental disorders. Operational criteria exists to detect the subjects with an At Risk Mental State (ARMS) for developing severe mental ilness. For instance, the mean percentage of transitions in several studies from ARMS into psychosis was about 37% within one year. Previous studies have shown that 76% of the ARMS people met the criteria of an Axis 1 disorder and did seek help for mental disorders in the years before onset of psychosis.
