Prevention of depression and anxiety in adolescents: A randomised controlled trial testing the efficacy and mechanisms of internet-based problem solving therapy (WC2007-067)

Background

Starting date: 01/01/2008 Depression and anxiety are highly prevalent in adolescence, which makes it important to prevent or postpone the onset of these, often first incidence, disorders. A difficulty in this respect is that adolescents are not inclined to seek treatment in regular healthcare. The internet, however, has been proven to be an acceptable medium for adolescents through which they tend to seek help for emotional problems.
