MeMo-project: mediators and moderators of school-based interventions aimed at energy balance behaviours

Objectives

Main Objective

The MeMo-project aims to identify mediators and moderators of school-based interventions aimed at improving energy balance behaviours in youth by conducting secondary analysis. The study will improve knowledge, inform future interventions and guide further research on the mechanisms through which energy balance behaviour intervention exert their effects. 

Specific Objectives

  1. Conduct a systematic review of the existing literature focusing on mediators of school-based energy balance behaviour intervention programs. 
  2. Conduct a systematic review of the existing literature focusing on moderators of school-based energy balance behaviour intervention programs.
  3. Conduct a secondary analyses on at least five existing appropriate data sets to identify mediating and moderating factors of effects of school-based energy belance behaviour interventions.
  4. Write recommendations for the development of future interventions aimed at the promotion of healthy lifestyles and prevention of overweight and obesity among youth based on the results of the reviews and secondary analysis.
