A project to promote fruit and vegetables among Dutch primary schoolchildren

Description of project:
The project was launched in March 2003 and 47 schools participated with the research part of the project. Before the project started, a baseline measurement has conducted by filling in questionnaires to assess the fruit and vegetable consumption and potential determinants of fruit and vegetable consumption of the children. Parents as well children have filled in the questionnaires. After the baseline measurement the intervention started. The children received twice a week ready-to-eat fruit and vegetables free at school for three years. Follow-up measurements have conducted after one year and after two years, in March 2004 and in March 2005.
