Sustainable employability in the construction industry (WC2014-080)

The construction industry, like in all sectors, faces an ageing working population. To counteract the associated (economic) problems, measures are needed to prolong working life and promote sustainable employability. To promote health and sustainable employability until and after the official retirement age, Arbouw has developed and implemented several instruments for employers and employees in the construction industry. These instruments are based on four elements: working conditions, health (including lifestyle), personal development, and organization. However, successful implementation and reaching employees remain a problem. The current project aims at identifying factors that contribute to successful implementation of sustainable employability measures and to increase the reach of employees.
