March 11th, Marjolein Visser (Professor at the VU Department of Health Sciences and the VUmc department of Internal medicine, section Nutrition and Health) appeared in de Volkskrant about the question: Does junk food make you depressed?

Visser: ‘’Biological factors, besides psychological factors, could play a role in the onset of depression. Increased body fat and an unhealthy diet could impact hormone levels and cause low-grade inflammation in the body. These changes could influence the onset of depressive symptoms.’’
