Dr Otto Maarsingh received a 240.000 euro ZonMw grant for project ‘Internet-based vestibular rehabilitation for older dizzy adults’

Dr Otto Maarsingh (senior researcher at the department of General Practice & Elderly Care Medicine/EMGO+ and general practitioner at the University General Practice of the VUmc) received a 240.000 euro grant for the project ‘Internet-based vestibular rehabilitation for older dizzy adults: does it work? A single blind, three arm, randomised controlled trial in general practice’. Vestibular rehabilitation (VR) involves the patient carrying out graded exercises that stimulate the vestibular system and promote neurological adaptation. Aim of this project is to investigate the effectiveness of stand-alone internet-based VR and internet-based VR with physiotherapeutic support (blended care) for older dizzy patients in general practice.
