Aim

1) In case suspicion of scientific misconduct: procedure and contact person
2) To ensure that the management of the EMGO+ Institute for Health and Care Research is informed in a timely manner of any calamities, to avoid being unprepared. This will allow the management, if required, to offer support, solve the calamity or limit any damage.

1 Scientific Misconduct
If you suspect somebody of scientific misconduct check the official protocol and contact the ombudsman of your organisation.

2 Calamities
Which particular calamities will the EMGO management need to be informed about?
Any issues where common sense dictates that it would be useful to inform the management.
Examples would include:

  • Calamities with a significant risk of damage to the institute’s reputation;
  • Calamities with a minor risk of significant damage to the institute’s reputation;
  • (Impending) conflicts with external parties;
  • Legal or financial conflicts;
  • Complaints from research participants;
  • Etc.

Please contact the EMGO Quality Officer if you believe there may be a potential calamity which the management needs to be informed about. The Quality Officer should be the first point of contact for any potential calamity. The Quality Officer will help assess whether the management needs to become involved.
